Art of the Draw: Advertising Posters
from the McCormick-International Harvester Collection
PRINTING TECHNOLOGY POSTER
Photo Finish
s
more photographic sources and techniques were introduced, they
slowly changed the visual quality of advertising posters. A
single photographic image dominates this poster. Though still
graphically striking, this poster lacks the complex coloring,
crayon-like texture, and gestural quality that characterized the
best color lithographs of the late 19th and early
20th centuries.
