Additional Comments
This two story Queen Anne styled house features an irregular shaped plan configuration, a granite stone foundaiton, a clapboard and wood shingled exterior, a wood and granite stone trim, and an asphalt shingled gable and hip roof. Two storied bays, appearing at the front and side elevations, are capped by gable roofs. Chamfered corners are detailed with scalloped woodwork and pendants. The front porch has an open design; its hipped and pedimented roof is supported by short Tuscan columns which rest on stone bases. A sunburst motif is set within the pediment, and the cornice below it is dentil trimmed. Frieze boards, corner boards, decorative shingles in the gables, and a wooden porch balustrade are other architectural elements. The residence is in poor condition. A related building is a garage. Architectural/Engineering Significance: This structure contributes to the significance of the Nathan Strong Park Historic District under Criterion C as a good example of a Free Classic Phase late Queen Anne house with all of its original decorative features intact.
