Additional Comments
This one and one half story Queen Anne house features an irregular shaped plan configuration, a granite stone and stone foundation, a clapboard and wood shingled exterior, a wood trim and an asphalt shingled gable and hip roof. Pent roofed eave returns appear in the open gable ends at the front and side elevation. The two sided front porch has an open design. Its hip roof is supported by metal porch. A lattice-work porch base is also visible. Another rear porch has turned columns, wooden railings and a lattice-work base. The residence is in poor condition. A garage is a related building. Architectual/Engineering Significance: This structure contributes to the significance of the Nathan Strong Park Historic Distircut under Criterion C as a good example of a late Queen Anne cottage with picturesque massing and such typical ornamental features as decorative features as shingling and porches with turned posts. The wrought-iron porch railings and posts that replaced the original turned posts and picket balustrade on the front porch are an unfortunate alteration, but the house still retains the essential features of the Queen Anne style.
