Waist-up cabinet card portrait of Ole Nustad Johnson [as written on the photograph backing; also written as Ole Johnson on Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20, published rosters: Rosters of Wisconsin Volunteers, Volume 1 (1886) and Wisconsin Volunteers (1914)], a private in Company I, 15th Wisconsin Infantry. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Waushara County, Wisconsin. On November 4, 1861, he enlisted in Scandinavia, Wisconsin and on December 12, 1861, he was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 20. He was mustered out of service on February 10, 1865, at Chattanooga, Tennessee.
