Head and shoulders oval studio portrait of Kund Johnson, a private in Company E, Wisconsin 15th Infantry. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Viroqua, Wisconsin. On December 16, 1862, he enlisted in Bad Axe County, Wisconsin and was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin on December 20, 1862, at the age of 21. On August 21, 1863, he was detached for a time as an orderly at brigade headquarters. He mustered out with Company E on December 20, 1864, at Chattanooga, Tennessee.
