Clark talks about the Montgomery Bus Boycott, how it was organized, the role of Rosa Parks, a number of violent incidents in connection with the boycott, and the founding of the Montgomery Improvement Association. She also discusses how she came to Highlander Folk School, introduced Esau Jenkins and Bernice Robinson to the school, worked with Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and helped to set up citizenship schools throughout the South to prepare Blacks to register and vote. She comments on the progress made in the civil rights movement and the work remaining to be done.
