Wisconsin State Capitol (Third) Maintenance

Painters working on the cornice of one of the four octagonal towers of the Wisconsin State Capitol. Also visible is the Italianate ornamentation of the iron cornice. Contemporary newspapers suggested that the iron cornice, columns, and dome required frequent painting, when their appearance became "rusty". |
