Wisconsin State Capitol (Third) Dome

The dome of the third Wisconsin State Capitol, which was constructed entirely of iron and glass, as it appeared in 1878. The dome was painted white which some contemporary observers felt did not blend well with the buff colored Prairie du Chien sandstone of the rest of the building.
