A collection of 20 interviews with residents of South Madison conducted in community centers, houses, churches, apartments, and a day care center conducted over a two-year period beginning in 1998. Included are color photos of four murals by David Giffey, each describing a decade of history beginning with 1950, which depict local, national, and international events and personalities related to African-American history.
