A powder horn carried during the Black Hawk War
Black Hawk War Powder Horn
An unknown member of Colonel Henry Dodge's militia carried this powder horn in the Black Hawk War during the spring and summer of 1832. Made of a cow horn, this powder horn was used to pour fine black powder into the ignition of a flintlock rifle.
