Birdseye view of the first Wisconsin Fish Hatchery
Wisconsin Fish Hatchery, Fitchburg, Near Madison
This 1887 lithograph gives an aerial view of one of the nation's first fish hatcheries, built outside Madison in 1887. It clearly shows the holding ponds and other design features, though like all birds-eye views it romanticizes the scene in high-Victorian fashion.
