By the second half of the nineteenth century, Milwaukee was becoming a center of manufacturing and trade for a variety of industries. This guide, produced in 1882, provides an overview of the city's industry and potential for future economic growth, both for entrepreneurs and for new settlers. Particular attention is paid to the brewing industry, though the booklet also details sales for other commercial industries such as printing, machinery, and lumber milling.
