A trip to Wisconsin Dells in 1879
Wisconsin Scenery
A.B. Braley embarked on a trip to Wisconsin Dells and Devil's Lake in June of 1879 from Madison. Traveling first by train, Braley arrived at Devil's Lake and from there began exploring many of the sights and rock formations captured in the photographs of H.H. Bennett. Braley provides thoughtful and amusing commentary on everything from the landscape and people he meets to the food and comforts of travel.
