Description

Chris Multerer (aka Chris Curtis) wrestled professionally for more than ten years starting in 1978, working for such organizations as the American Wrestling Association and the World Wrestling Federation. In one of Multerer’s first and most famous performances, he wrestled Victor, a 600-pound black bear, during a match in Milwaukee. As a “job man”—a wrestler trained to perform alongside the headliners—Multerer appeared live and on television with the superstars of wrestling, including Reggie “The Crusher” Lisowski, Andre the Giant, Jesse "The Body" Venutra, Mad Dog Vachon, and Hulk Hogan. In cities around the country, thousands of screaming fans cheered when their favorite wrestlers pinned and punished Multerer in a variety of painful ways.

In Job Man, Multerer and coauthor Larry Widen offer readers a front-row view of life as a job man, in and out of the ring. Hilarious stories from long days and nights the road, honest and thoughtful takes on the business and its larger-than-life personalities, and an obvious love for the sport all come through in a revealing and personal story from professional wrestling’s heyday.
