This issue includes articles on Wausau High School's undefeated 1943 football team, the role German immigrants played in the 1840s to develop Wisconsin brewing, a brief history of Camp Randall for the 100th anniversary of the stadium, an excerpt from the newly released book "Somos Latinas: Voices of Wisconsin Latina Activists" and the story of Sherman M. Booth and Byron Paine, Wisconsin abolitionists who gained national attention for their attack on the Fugitive Slave Act and later fought for black suffrage.
Wisconsin Magazine of History is a quarterly journal of Wisconsin history published by the Wisconsin Historical Society since 1917. The magazine publishes articles about the people, places, and events of Wisconsin’s past.
