"Urban J. Lewis was a native of England who came to the United States as a child. He came to Kenosha in 1875 to become cashier of the Dan Head and Company Private Bank. Besides banking, Lewis had many other business interest. In 1920, the house was acquired for the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home, which occupies the building today."
