A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Bartles-Maguire Oil Company of Milwaukee built the filling station in 1929. This company ultimately bought by Wadhams Oil Company, which constructs the service bay addition in 1939. Demolished in either 2011 or 2012. The building had made the Society for Commercial Archeology's "Most Endangered" list in 2011. See their Spring 2012 edition for "Landmark Gas Station Demolished" article on page 7.
