1995- "The grandstand that is visible today is the most altered of all the district's resources, although all the major alterations occurred during the period of significance. Early photographs show that the oriqinal grandstand consisted of two equal length rectilinear plan one-story sections, each of which had a gable roof hav1ng unequal length slopes, and these sections flanked a slightly taller square plan central pavilion that had a pyramidal roof. By 1924, when a 66-foot-long slightly less tall addition was added to the east end of the grandstand, the central pavilion had been removed and the two original sections and the center section were all covered by a single roof as it is today. ln 1933, damage of an unspecitied nature that occurred during a windstorm on June 30 was repaired and the result was a grandstand that is basically identical to the present one. The 1924 addition remained in place at least until the late 1940s, but it is no longer extant and its date of removal is not known. Despite the later alterations, however, the grandstand is believed to retain sufficient integrity to be considered a contributing resource in the district."
