The building contributes to the architectural significance of the Main Street Historic District as an example of the commercial vernacular style. It is a simple example of a turn of the twentieth century commercial building. The building was constructed as a warehouse for the neighboring Jens Hansen Wagon Shop and was meant to be a utilitarian structure. It contributes to the historical significance of the district because of its association with the Hansen Wagon Shop, one of the most important small industries in the city's historic downtown.
