It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 1999: Preliminary research efforts indicate that Marytown's first mill was begun by Heus and Mullenbach and was built no later than 1874; however, it was located in Section 23. By 1893, the combined flour and saw mill was under the ownership of John Schiller but, within five years, he chose to relocate his milling operation from Section 23 to its current location in Section 26- along the east side of STH 149. Schiller's miling operation all but disappeared from available county directories and state business gazetteers between 1907-08 and 1927-28. It reappeared thereafter under the name of Henry Burmeister and continued to function as a flour mill. Burmeister retained the operation until the 1940s. At that time, August Sippel purchased the structure and converted it into a feed mill, which was thereafter commonly known as Marytown Farm Supply. In the 1970s, Ralph Heus purchased the structure and continued to run the commercial operation for a few years; after closing the business he continued to grind feed, but only for personal use. His son, Robert Heus, currently owns the building.
