Additional Comments

THIS TWO AND A HALF STORY FRONT GABLED HOUSE WAS BUILT IN 1906. (SEE BIB. REF. A, G). IT FEATURES A RECTANGULAR SHAPED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A STONE FOUNDATION, A CLAPBOARD EXTERIOR, A WOOD TRIM, AND AN ASPHALT SHINGLED GABLE ROOF. A GABLED WALL DORMER INTERSECTS WITH THE MAIN ROOF AT THE SIDE FACE. DECORATIVE SHINGLES ADORN THE ATTIC STORY OF THE STREET-FACING OPEN GABLED END. PROJECTING FORWARD ON THE FACADE IS A NEARLY FULL-LENGHT FRONT PORCH; ITS HIPPED ROOF IS SUPPORTED BY IONIC COLUMNS WHICH REST ON SHORT, FILLED-IN RAILINGS. PROMINENT WINDOW MOLDINGS, CORNER BOARDS, FRIEZE BOARDS AND A BRICK CHIMNEY FURTHER DISTINGUISH THIS DWELLING. THE RESIDENCE IS IN GOOD CONDITION. J. B. WALLACE AND HIS HEIRS WERE INDIVIDUALS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS HOUSE FROM 1910 TO 1925. Survey Update of the Mineral Point Historic District - Phase 1. 2026. Legacy Architecture, Inc.
