This two story commercial building was originally a blacksmith shop. It was remodeled at the turn of the century foruse as a restaurant/saloon. The building is constructed of bricks that have been pained. It features a cornice decorated with acanthus leaf brackets and dentils. The second floor windows are elaborately decorated with heavy entablatures featuring a pedimented cornice, a plain frieze, and thin Ionic columns. The openings are filled in with single-light double-hung sashes. The first floor has been remodeled and the original storefront filled in with vertical board siding, a small modern picture window, and modern doors. The building sits by a narrow alley and is cut off at the corner at a 45 degree angle.
The building was originally a blacksmith shop that was extensively remodeled at the turn of the century. It was a restaurant and saloon until prohibition. The building then became an undertaker's business location, then a soda fountain, then a tailor shop, and then a saloon again, which it has been up to the present time.
