Additional Comments
2025; The two-story Italianate building of the State Bank of Argyle was constructed circa 1895. The commercial building’s bayed form is oriented on a corner lot and sits on a parged concrete foundation with red brick cladding and a flat roof. A deep band of cornice molding is accompanied by eave brackets and classical detailing at the front façade and storefront. A line of brick corbeling additionally runs underneath the cornice at the north and east façade. Windows are predominately single and paired double-hung replacement sashes of rectangular and segmental arched forms. Pairs of rectangular windows are crowned with pediment-inspired lintels at the front. Segmental-arched windows are crowned with hooded lintels that terminate in corbeling at the building's sides. Some are infilled, including the storefront glazing. The property has been subdivided into a multi-unit dwelling and there is a substantial rear addition. Changes since the last survey date include replacement windows, infill, and substantial rear addition
