Additional Comments
This structure contributes to the significance of the Nathan Strong Park Historic District under criterion C as a good example of an early Italianate house with bracketed eaves and peaked Greek Revival window lintels. This fine little c. 1850's villa is a survivor of the town's Pioneer period when the first substantial houses were built. In keeping with its location facing fashionable Nathan Strong Park, the house was updated in the early 1900s with a grand classical porch that has since been enclosed to form a sunroom. This is an important surviving example of the architecture of the founding period in Berlin.
