By 1884, Oscar P. Van Dusen with Gallett and Breese ran the Wentworth lumberyard east of Wisconsin along the north bank of the canal. In 1888, Prentice and Mohr began operation of the west portion of the former Van Dusen lumberyard. Christian F. Mohr ahd began dealing in lumber as well as hops since 1869. Prentice and Mohr dealt in lumber, sash, blinds, doors, building paper, salt, cement, coal, and lime. C.F. Mohr reorganized his company with Samuel Stotzer in 1901 and again in 1913. At that time, the company also maintained its mills at Holt, Wisconsin and its main office at Wausau. The Mohr-Stotzer Lumber Company advertised as manufacturers of pine, hemlock and hardwood lumber. The C.F. Mohr Lumber Company erected the lumberyard office in 1899-1910 at 201 DeWitt (25/0), and continued to operate the lumberyard office east of Wisconsin through 1930. C.F. Mohr also owned the coal, and lime storage buildings at 211 E. Mullett (49/0) just east of Adams by 1918. By 1937 through 1948, the company and office were owned by the Barker Lumber and Fuel Company. By 1951 through 1955, it had become the York-Barker Lumber Company.
