Additional Comments
This structure contributes to the significance of the Appleton City Park Historic District under Criterion C as one of a pair of identical late Queen Anne style houses utilizing a series of shallow projections to add interest to the basic boxy shape of the house. The influence of the shingle style is evident in the way the entire composition has been unified under a massive, widely overhanging, gabled roof, the shingled gables and the colonial style sash. The present classical portico, although handsome, does not appear to be original. The twin to the house is located next door at 510 E. North Street. Garage also on the property.
