Assessor's records note a 1900 date of construction; however, the house (minus the two-story porch to the west) appears on the 1886 Sanborn map. west The porch was added between 1924 and 1932. The earliest known owner/occupant of the house was William J. Furstenberg, a traveling agent for George Wolf & Co./Appleton Marble & Granite Works.
