Additional Comments
SEGMENTAL ARCHED WINDOWS. BRACKETS UNDER EAVES. MODERN 1 STORY ADDITION ON FRONT. Originally built in 1872 for John Fayette Allen, this was once one of the grandest and most impressive houses in Columbus as well as the grandest of only three known Second Empire style houses in the city. Today, this is the only example to survive, but subsequent changes attendent on its being converted into a funeral home have diminished its integrity to the point where it is no longer even a contributing element in this district.
