ARCHITECTURAL STATEMENT: THE DESIGN OF THIS TWO STORY FRAME HOUSE RESULTED FROM A COMBINATION OF THE QUEEN ANNE, SHINGLE STYLE AND COLONIAL REVIVAL. VARIOUS VOLUMES ARE COMBINED CREATING A VERTICAL THRUST (BAY WINDOW & TOWERS). THESE ARE BALANCED BY THE STRONG HORIZONTAL OF PROCH AND EAVE LINE. MODILLIONS AND DELICATE SWAGS ENLIVEN THE SURFACE. THIS DESIGN ALSO APPEARS AT 521 MT. VERNON (OS 17). HISTORICAL STATEMENT: WILLIAM WAGSTAFF WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE WASHBURN MANUFACTURING CVOMPANY UNTIL 1894 WHEN HE STARTED HIS OWN WHOLESALE LUMBER COMPANY (B). WAGSTAFF PURCHASED THE PROPERY IN 1890 (D).
