It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 2008: Locomotive is currently on loan to Duluth, Minnesota. Moved to Carson Park in 1960. Map code and map location reflects its location in Carson Park, Eau Claire. Locomotive #2719 was the last operating steam locomotive on the Soo Line. "Locomotive No. 2719, Class H-23, a Pacific with 4-6-2 wheel arrangement was built by the American Locomotive Works in 1923. It was retired in 1955. It traveled approximately 4 million miles in its 32 years of service pulling passenger trains between Minneapolis and Chicago" (A). |
