A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. E.E. BROWNE WAS THE FIRST STATE SENATOR FROM WAUPACA CO. SUPPOSEDLY THE OLDEST LAW OFFICE IN STATE THAT HAS BEEN IN CONTINUAL USE. The Browne Law Office is a one-story Greek Revival style office building with a gable roof tha projects to become a portico with full pediment. The pediment is supported by square columns. The walls are covered with clapboard siding and punctuated with regular four-light sashes. A bay window projects from the north facade. The Browne Law Office was listed in the National Register as a good example of a Greek Revival style commercial building that was typical of the type of early structures seen in Waupaca's downtown commercial district. The building was also listed for its association with E.E. Browne, an early pioneer lawyer in Waupaca who was a local politician and one of the most prominent citizens in the city during the nineteenth century.
