A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Marchetti was municipal judge, county judge, and mayor of Wausau. House was originally located at 120 GRAND Avenue, and was moved to 111 GRANT Ave in 1993 for use as an antique store. In the summer of 2008 the house was moved a third time back to GRAND Ave, to the current location 921 Grand Ave. An impressive example of the Second Empire style, the house features a fishscale shingled, straight-sided Mansard roof; square turret with parapet; bay window; and pedimented dormer. At it's original location it was one of the key remaining features (along with 114 Grand) marking the beginning of the elegant, tree-lined Grand Avenue - neighborhood of many prominent Wausau citizens from c. 1870 to 1900. Louis Marchetti was an attorney who authored the classic History of Marathon County in 1913.
