Second photo code is from Menomonee Valley Industrial Survey.

This five-story commercial styled brick building has decorative stone trim including arches at the top which divide the facade into three units. The first floor is in original condition. This is an intact and interestingly detailed example of its era.

HSITORICAL BACKGROUND AND SIGNIFICANCE:

Standard Bedding has been in operation since the 1890's and occupied the factory for 20 years following its construction. The company used the basement for storage, the first floor for office space and a shipping department, the second for stock rooms and a picker, the third for feather cleaning and mattress manufacture, the fourth for a stock room and a garnett room (fiber cleaning), and the fifth for knitting. It has been used by several wholesale firms and other businesses since 1934, and has been occupied by Allied Glove Corp. and A. H. Weber Co.

In 1990, Triad Engineering renovated the building.
