Additional Comments
The Masonic Temple is a two-story, rectangular-plan, Prairie-style building constructed in 1914, according to the date stone. It is clad in brick with brick quoins on the corners, decorative stone diamonds along the roof line, and a concrete foundation. The building has a hip roof, boxed wood soffits, a wide stucco and stone chimney, and a brick chimney. The roof features wide eaves on the front (north) facade and side (east) elevation. Windows are three-over-three, one-over-one, multi-light, and single-light wood units with stone sills. Single-light windows feature decorative transoms and units on the first story feature infilled arches. The facade features a grouping of ribbon windows above a central entrance with a decorative arched stone pediment flanked by stone pilasters. It is accessed via concrete porch with stone veneer, concrete steps, and metal railing. A stone belt course wraps around the building under the first-story windows. The northeast corner features a date stone that reads “F. & A. M. 1914.” The side (west) elevation features a wood door with diamond cut outs and a transom window on the second story, which is accessed via a metal fire escape. An entrance is located on the rear (south) elevation and accessed via a concrete stoop with a metal railing.
