This building was erected circa 1962 and served for more than forty years as the Sheridan Woods Floral Shop, which was operated by George Scripko. Scripko was born in Racine in 1932 and graduated from Washington Park High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Air Force, after which he was employed as a clerk in “The Flower Shop” in Racine. He attended the Chicago Floral School of Design, after which he started his own flower business. After forty years of running his shop, he retired in the 1990s, after which the building was occupied by Pfisters Pflowers. Currently, the building serves as a beauty salon.
