Built in about 1885 for Henry McNamara wh lived here until 1913. Soon after settling in Janesville, McNamara was employed as a traveling salesman. He later established a hardware store on W. Milwaukee Street.
"This Queen Anne style house occupies the site of the first public school in Look West, built about 1855. McNamara, who resided here 1889-1913, was a traveling salesman and hardware merchant."
