Selzer-Ornst was the builder. 2021 - This Contemporary office building was constructed in 1968. Designed by local mid-century architect Jordan Miller, this brick building rises eight stories and a penthouse above the south end of Cathedral Park. The first two floors are dominated by heavy expanses of brick and large pillars, beneath which storefront entrances are recessed. The upper stories of the northern elevation feature an assortment of brick pilasters of varying width and height, creating bays of different width whose stories are progressively recessed as they rise. Bands of windows are separated on each story by metal spandrel panels. The western elevation along N. Jefferson Street features a series of boxed window bays beginning at the fourth story, separated by angled pilasters that extend down through the cantilevered awnings sheltering the first-floor storefronts. The northern portion of the Jefferson Street façade, which was once an uninterrupted expanse of brick, has had a large section of curtain wall installed beginning at the fourth story. Windows throughout the entire building appear to have been replaced, although the openings remain the same.
