Original caption notes: "Both directors in characteristic poses (although Miss Camp doesn't often sit down during the day), illustrating her own camp 'specialty.' Miss Joy is putting the finishing touches on the barbecue of 75 pounds of porterhouse steaks, an event which takes place twice during the season. She is in charge of all camp craft activities. Miss Camp is in charge of the general program and ALL water sports, and both take an active part in the camp program." The original caption that describes the image of Chief Whirling Thunder reads: "Chief Whirling Thunder of the Winnebago tribe, who has spent two afternoons with us, telling in a dignified and thrilling manner of the lore of his people."
