Quarter-length oval studio portrait of Iver J. Sorlie [as written on the photograph backing; also written as Iver Johaneson on Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20 and published roster: Wisconsin Volunteers: War of the Rebellion (1914); also as Iver Johanneson on published roster: Rosters of Wisconsin Volunteers, Volume 1 (1886)], a private in Company K, 15th Wisconsin Infantry. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Winneshick, Iowa. On February 11, 1862, he enlisted in Winneshick, Iowa and on February 11, 1862, and on November 22, 1864, he was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 47. [On the photograph backing it states that he was wounded in the knee at the battle near Stone River, Tennessee.] He was discharged on December 24, 1862, at Nashville, Tennessee for disability.
