Migrant Cherry Pickers

Filiberto Almendarez and his children, who are migrant workers, pose in front of cherry trees. The family, including Filiberto and children, Filiberto Jr., 22; Maria, 19; Elida, 18; Abel, 17; Anastasia, 15, and Florencia, 13, traveled from their home in Carrizo Springs, Texas to pick cherries for James Erickson in Door county. The family was also accompanied by Florencia, not pictured, Filiberto's wife and mother of the children. Filiberto immigrated to the United States from Mexico, and he and his family spent four months each year following crops as migrant workers.
