John H. Rountree

Quarter-length oval portrait of Major John H. Rountree. He was born in March of 1805 in Kentucky, near the Mammoth Cave, and came to Wisconsin on May 27, 1827. He was one of the first to settle and develop Platteville, in Grant County.

Quarter-length oval portrait of John Porter. He was born in Harrison County, Kentucky, on February 27, 1798, and came to Wisconsin in April of 1827.
John Slothower
1856
Quarter-length oval portrait of John Slothower. He was born in Pennsylvania and came to Wisconsin in 1836. He resided in Stevens Point, and was 45 years old at the time of the photograph.
