"Monumental Oriental Head"

Slightly angled front view of a large, concrete-cast "Monumental Oriental Head" of the Buddha painted red with heavily textured light-colored hair and topknot. Standing 110" x 45" x 78," the sculpture is sitting on a thick base ornamented with Zodiac medallions in the backyard of Sid Boyum's house. The Zodiac symbols in front are of Leo and Scorpio. Sculpted owls are sitting beneath the bust on the base and in the space in front. Part of a white lantern, torii gate, and part of a metal "astrolabe" are pictured to the left rear. The brick building of the Madison-Kipp Corporation is in the far background.
