Asylum

Text on front reads: "Asylum, Whitehall, Wisconsin." A multi-story building with a full basement and attic surrounded by a large lawn with small trees. Built of brick in the Romanesque Revival style in 1899. The original name was "Trempealeau County Asylum and Poor House Farm," changed in 1947 to "Trempealeau County Hospital" and finally to "Trempealeau County Health Care Center" in 1974. A hospital addition was built in 1969, after which the original building was demolished.
