Life Saving Station

Text on front reads: "Life Saving Station, Racine, Wis." Located at the mouth of the Root River, the Life Saving Station is the white structure. It was added next to the Lighthouse in 1903. A team from the Life-Saving Service lived there. The brick structure is the lighthouse. The light was moved to the 120 foot steel tower in 1903. The structures have concrete docks on the Root River. These buildings were added the the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
