Van Slyke Sketch

Image

An original pencil sketch by banker and real estate developer Napoleon B. Van Slyke, possibly for his residence erected in 1859 at 510 North Carroll Street. The floor plan of the house as built differs somewhat from this sketch, raising the possibility that it was intended for one of the several other houses he had built for himself or for one of his clients.
