Hotel Chequamegon

View of the original Hotel Chequamegon, built by the Wisconsin Central Railroad interests and opened in 1877. It was built of wood with a wrap around porch on first level and a second level balcony. It faced the bay and had a long series of steps leading to a boat landing. The hotel was condemned as a fire trap and razed in the 1890's.
