Astronaut James A. Lovell and his wife during a visit to Wisconsin. One measure of Lovell's celebrity status is the fact that it is Wisconsin's governor, Warren P. Knowles, who is snapping the photograph. At the time Lovell had already completed successful flights on Gemini 7 and 12.
