Three-quarter length seated oval studio portrait of Bjorn Thompson, a private in Company I, 15th Wisconsin Infantry. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Chippewa, Wisconsin. On November 5, 1861, he enlisted in Bloomer, Wisconsin and on December 20, 1861, he was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 33. He was mustered out with Company I on February 10, 1865, at Chattanooga, Tennessee.
