Loading Bacon into the Smoker
Image
Two men lift "combed" slabs of cured bacon from a conveyor belt and hang them on a smoking rack behind them. The rack is inside the opening to the automated smoking system at Oscar Mayer's Madison plant, which gradually lifted the bacon racks to the top of a seven-story smoking chamber and returned them a day or two later to ground level. Both men wear employee ID badges and what appear to be union dues buttons. The bacon is stamped "Sunnyfield Brand," which is the mark being stamped in image [unique identifier W014C6S].
