Accessing Collections
The vast majority of the items in our collections are not online. The Society owns thousands of archival collections viewable in our Archives reading room. To view and conduct research in our collections, visit us in person.
Giese Barn — Exterior

Loren Giese and his son Nathan are pictured at this barn at N7473 Hwy AY (Section 31). Loren and his wife Shirley, have lived here since 1982.

The Gieses moved here in 1990. They currently milk 100 cows in a new, modern structure.

This barn, at W2208 Hwy AY (Section 31), stands isolated in a field between the farms of brothers Lloyd and Loren Giese. Lloyd Giese and his son, Andy, are shown.
Giese Combination Smokehouse and Milkhouse

This combination smokehouse and milkhouse are still standing on the Giese property.
Riegleman Barn — Alternate View

This barn is currently being used by Howard Van Beck of Campbellsport. Forty-two cows are milked here daily.
Benter Barn — Alternate View

Lois Benter's parents, Ervin and Alice Giese, and grandparent, Albert Giese, were the previous owners. The last cows to be milked were in August of 2000.
